Logan Grimnar by Herne
Well it's a surprise to see a Space Wolf on a Dark Angels web site maybe. But in this case fully justified.
A beautifully painted Logan, that adds additional character to an already magnificent model. Style is quite rough but that suits the subject well I think, with brushstrokes visible on the blends and highlights, and with deep black shadows throwing the detail into exaggerated relief. Within those confines there a few nice touches like the freehand Chapter emblem, the way the metal of the blade and other metallic accoutrements has been handled, and the 'jewelling' of the gems.
The basing adds much to the dynamism of the model — this in itself well conceived and expertly executed — that despite it's size doesn't detract attention from Logan.
