The Dark Fortress

Article submissions

3 February 2015

I am always looking for high quality material to keep this site fresh and will welcome any suggestions for new content and ideas for features etc.

I would be particularly be interested in submissions for the following subject areas:

Tacticas

DA-related or general Space Marine, and 'Know your enemy' tacticas.

Images for the Oratorium gallery

Primarily painted or converted Dark Angels individual models or units: Battle company, Ravenwing, Deathwing, Successor Chapters too. Also interested in Inquisitorial, Grey Knight, Astra Militarum/Militarum Tempestus, Adeptus Mechanicus and Chaos models to feature.

The images, they need to be at least 1024x768 or 1280x960 pixels in size, ideally 1600x1200 (2 megapixel) if you can. But really any larger size will do as they can be adjusted or cropped them as needed.

The main thing is to not compress them too much when saving as a jpg as the image quality deteriorates. So high quality jpgs.

Backgrounds should be plain and unfussy so that the models stand out. It should ideally but not necessarily be white — any neutral colour is ok — as long as it isn’t too dark. Or you could use a textured paper backdrop available from the internet.

Look to submit at least ten or a dozen images as only the best will get selected. More is always better as a starting point to select from.

Once I see the pics you might be asked a few questions, the answers to which could be used as a quotation(s) within the introductory text. Feel free send in some background info, a paint recipe or how you tackled a particular conversion or painting problem, with the images.
